  1. Why can't a cable stayed bridge be built with a central or additional pylons to increase the span length ?

  3.  @Thehusseyin  Okay so it was a project specific consideration to maintain the sea lane? I wasn't sure if the halved width would allow for ships passing with a safety margin, but they made it sound like the maximum span was a general rule so I wasn't sure.
