  1. There is, lets call it a non 0 chance, that this suggestion ends up in a boondoggle - but I'd say its worth the risk. Government should buy HBC in bankruptcy, keep a few flagstone shops open, open a bunch of small order to locations, and revamp the Bay's Core Business model to be the Canadian Amazon. Then release it from government control and turn it into a customer owned co-op. I would love a large Canadian online retailer, I would love if it were a Co-op, and I am one of those people who would like the bay to hang in there even though I don't use it.
