Calling the US energy's independent, first of all you have to be ignoring Canada, because the Midwest runs on oil sands oil, but more importantly the Fracking crudes are concentrated in the south west, where the Gulf refineries that specializes in Venezuelan and Mexican heavys are located. California and the west coast has very impact.
