The ultimate problem here is that the American currency has been completely debauched, devalued, and destroyed by the fed. International banking cartels run our country now and they have destroyed 97% of the dollars buying power since 1913. That's why two incomes are not enough to pay the rent when in 1950 one income would allow homeownership and to stay at home wife to take care of the kids.

Finally somebody mentions the elephant in the room. If it wasn't for property taxes everybody could afford housing.

The so-called climate emergency has very little to do with saving the planet. it's all about controlling the population. look no further than the money supply involved in this great big scam follow the money.

@Optimistprime. I don't deny that the climate is changing. It has for 80 million years. What I have a problem with is the assertion that humans have to stop living in order to prevent it. That's totally false. Humans are not a significant cause of this phenomenon. It isn't something that another tax will fix. It's a power grab and it's also been very lucrative for the people selling "carbon credits".

For example, in the cheapest part of New York City in Brooklyn, you need to earn 112,000 to be able to pay the rent there.

@Comm0ut Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would live within the US government's jurisdiction. If you are in a rural area, the feds come and give you the Randy Weaver treatment. If you live in a city, the feral people will rob/murder you, or the rent/taxes will leave you homeless. I could see no option but to move to rural Japan. I don't feel save anywhere that the US gov can reach.

@jimboneutron8399 Oklahoma.. land of floods and tornadoes. And chemical factory explosions. The south sucks because it's the dumping ground for industry. I explored the south in 2005 when taxed got too high up north. I found nothing I could live with. Anyway, the encroaching police state convinced me it is better to more to rural Japan. Ishikawa, Japan. 3X the house, 2X the acreage, 1/20th the taxes.

@jimboneutron8399 Weather is just one dimension. There's the drug addicts, the crazy cops, the bugs, the humidity and lots more. And when the shizzy hits the fizzy I don't want to be anywhere near the USA when it goes down.

@jimboneutron8399 comparing those two situations, yes, living in OK would beat LA any day. As for me, I could not afford NOT to move to Japan. American taxes are wiping me out. And furthermore, it's become dangerous if you're a white, older conservative person. Civil war is coming to the US. All the signs are there. Godspeed.
