  1. The thing about Japan is that there's lots of affordable housing in Rural japan. And the great thing about it is the property taxes are very low almost infinitesimal compared to American standards. For instance a 3000 square foot Macha style house on an acre of land the property taxes are under $400 a year. Versus a 1,000 ft house on a half acre of land in the United States the property taxes are $11,000 a year. And you wonder why of the United States has such a homeless problem.
