  1. Bass is the foundation of music. It shakes the earth. It moves you, both spiritually and literally. But it is only interesting if the bass is playing an innovative melody with unexpected changes. There is nothing more boring than walking bass. Oh, and Gary King, when he played with Bob James in 1974. He did great work on bridges and riffs.
