  1. I grew up so poor we didn't have running water or heating. Gradually, we struggled to get from sheer abject poverty to just poor. I built my house in 1966 and did the work myself. Took forty years to get it completed. Now the property taxes are more than my social security retirement income.

  2.  @jameseverett4976  Agreed, and I've been saying that on my blog for years. Homes are not stocks that should be traded for profit. Home is shelter, constancy, security.
