  1. 60 years ago, when America was culturally pure, we did not have these problems. Children had respect, property taxes were low, and so a single parent could work and the spouse could stay home and raise the children properly. Today we have property taxes of 10000, $20,000 a year for homes of modest-sized here in the Northeast And both parents working sometimes two full-time jobs and some part-time jobs just to pay those taxes. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy that the education system has brought upon itself.

  4.  Antonio Sciorra  Back in my day, if you talked back to a teacher, you got a ruler across your knuckles.. and when your father found out about it, you'd get a beating that night. The next day, you behaved and addressed everyone as "yes sir" and "yes m'am". The other difference is we were all white back then.
