Worse than the fact that they lose charge quickly at cold temperatures, once a lithium ion battery gets down around the freezing point it's battery management system will prevent it from being charged in order to prevent the battery from being damaged. Charging a frozen lithium-ion battery will cause internal shorts which will result in the battery catching on fire.

  6. In my small town we never have shoplifting or never did before. That was before Joe Biden's economy. But this week the police released a photograph of a senior citizen who shoplifted about $500 worth of groceries. A senior citizen who probably couldn't afford to buy groceries because Social Security won't pay the bills anymore.

  9.  @alexh5725  The underlying problem is environmental laws banning the use of nuclear energy. If we had nuclear energy, electricity would be plentiful and cheap. Renewables are a waste of money, they don't work (as we see here) and are environmentally damaging in their manufacture and disposal.

  15. I can see that insurance companies are going to socialize the cost of these disasters by spreading the cost to all 50 states customers. I can also see the government stepping in and forcing insurance companies to pay these claims. I can see a lot of insurance companies going bankrupt. I can also see that this is a weather pattern that is getting worse and worse each year. The time of humans on the planet is coming to a close.
