  1. I had a 1959 Citroën model ID and it has the smoothest ride of any car I'd driven. The suspension system is hydraulic. It also can lift the car 13" elevation, enabling me to drive it through a foot of snow.

  2. I used to have a 1959 Citroen ID. Although most of the time I owned it it was sitting in my garage waiting to be repaired. I had to replace a worn out synchronizer gear in the transmission and I also had trouble with the hemispheres something would break and cause the suspension system to collapse. When the car was running properly it was really amazing. It could corner like nothing else on the road and the ride was smooth you never felt any of the road bump. When we had snow about a foot of it I used the lever under the dash to raise the car 13 inches off the ground and drove through the park in a foot of snow. Quite impressive in those days.
