I just bought a 2005 Silverado 2500HD. The owner's father installed a light bar, but by the time I bought it, the cable was cut and taped.
Coming out from the cab and into the bed, there's a cable with Black, Red, Brown and White wires. Connector is missing. But the light bar has a five pin connector and same color wires.
I've determined that Black is ground and red and black are left and right cargo lamps. But the white wire does not energize, even when I activate the emergency lights from the switch on the right hand side of the dash.
Also, who sells those 5 pin connectors? If I can't find this type, I'll redo both the light bar and the cable from the truck side with a new set of connectors. Besides, the owner had the female connector on the light bar and the male on the supply side, which is reverse of what is safe--you don't want exposed pins energized and shorting against the metal bed when not connected to the light bar.
