With property taxes my tax rate is over 102%.

@shyjelly7905 I get $730 a month on Social Security. My property tax bill is $10,792 for my modest home. What is my tax rate? Fifth grade math here.

@shyjelly7905 Only stupid people go into debt for college. Smarter people get a 2 year trade certificate and become welders earning six figures. Taxes are NOT cheaper. You need to look at the whole picture: your taxes fund the murder of tens of millions of people through wars. Taxes fund corruption and collusion and mafia style tactics to create medical monopolies. If this did not exist, you could get open heart surgery done for less than $10K. Ultimately, just don't stuff your pie hole with McDonalds Big Macs, take vitamins, have an active lifestyle and you can be vibrant and healthy into your 100's.

@josefstalin4532 Income from social security retirement is $730. Property taxes are $970 per month. So tax rate is over 100% for me.

@shyjelly7905 There's no such thing as free. You are paying for it with your taxes.
2
@ericdaniel323 Yes they are. Free is a concept that does not exist in reality. There is always someone who pays.

@shyjelly7905 Neither do it, but there's this thing called property taxes and if you don't pay them in full every year, they come with armed men and evict you from your house. Home ownership is not permitted in America. I'd rather do art, travel to Japan regularly, and enjoy my retirement. But instead I'm working 30 years past retirement with no end in sight until I die. These taxes are why I work.

@shyjelly7905 Lots of the American population is overweight, grotesquely so, because of this fast food diet. In America, in 1988, a Romanian mathematician calculated to true tax rate in America for a middle class earner. It was 92%. He figured in all the taxes, fees and inflation as a tax.

@josefstalin4532 Amerika.

@ericdaniel323 The concept of Free is an illusion. You just admitted there is a cost, taxes.

@shyjelly7905 I'm retired, but I now pay income tax on my pension. That's about 15% tax rate. But my home is taxed, too, and that annual tax bill exceeds my social security pension income, so the tax rate is effectively over 100%. Obviously, I don't pay the property tax in full. I throw them $100 a month when I can, but I'm expected to pay more than nine times that amount every month.

@ericdaniel323 I'll give you ONE example of free: A mass murderer shoots someone. Then he shoots 49 more people. The first one is the death penalty. The other 49 are for free, as the state can't execute him 50 times.
