  1. The main reason that diesel is expensive is because it is no longer the cheapest fuel to refine as was the case before the EPA made regulations that required low sulfur diesel to be sold. So hence Diesel and heating oil prices are six times higher than they would be if we had the old Diesel from the 1970s.

At some point the trucker's will just start their trucks in fact many are not even driving to the Northeast because there was no diesel fuel in the Northeast and they don't want to get stranded there. The reality is without diesel the utility trucks that repair the power lines will not be able to operate so once a power outage occurs it will be semi permanent.
