It depends on what is needed in an economy. In the 1960s most immigrants have come from Türkiye, many from Kurdish areas, people without even the skill of writing.
You may have heard of Biontech, the company who has sold the vaccine for COVID-19 to Pfizer.
The scientist who developed the process is a child of these people, educated in Germany in the 1960/70s and a German citizen, of course.
Germany has needed that people in that time to work in the steel industry mostly.
If you do look back into the 19th century, many people have come to the Ruhr area from Poland, with a similar background to work in the coal industry. They've been integrated into society the same way.
It was different in the 17th century, when over a million people have come from France, highly educated protestants.
They've been the main reason for the rise of Prussia probably.
Today Germany will need people again.
But it won't be uneducated people.
More people, who can care for the elderly.
People who can work in construction with highly mechanized machines and engineers who help to rebuild the infrastructure for renewable energy sources.
In addition the army needs to be rebuild, peace times are over for now.
New times, new challenges.
