  2. Can I suggest some alternative tests....for example shine a laser out over a lake and follow it out on a small boat with a white target and a marker pen. If the earth is flat then the laser beam will always be parallel to the water surface i.e. The same height no matter how far out across the lake you follow it. Follow the beam and mark where on the target with your pen where the beam lands. Do this every 100 feet. I guarantee that the laser beam will be about 6 feet or more above the lake surface when the boat goes out past 500 ft and beyond that will be too high to reach. This is because the lake surface is curved....just like the earth.
