Powerful speech but honestly, coming from a country (UK) that enacted stringent gun controls after several horrible mass shootings, I fear this will keep happening in the US so long as people keep “wanting to protect their 2nd ammendment rights” and arent willing to face up to real and sweeping culture change. In a civilised, law abiding society, nobody needs a gun. You may like guns, your Daddy and Grand Daddy may have brought you up to love guns, but enough is enough. First thing is to ban political donations of any kind by the NRA and any gun-related lobby group. In parallel, gun type and ammo ownership restrictions. Locked and police checked gun caninets, owner licencing and a total ban on high capacity weapons of any sort.
