  1. This is a drop in the ocean compared to the massive corporate tax avoidance major corporations get away with by being headquarted in Ireland yet trading in the Uk. These include Microsoft, Google and Amazon tomname but three. It is grotesque that they pay a fraction that UK businesses do and get away with it whilst making £billions in the UK.

  2. Corporations yes….But the problem comes when defining « the wealthy ». Its arbitrary and inevitably ends up with tax hikes for higher earning bands who are not necessarily wealthy as such. Perhaps we should do it by net worth like in France… a wealth tax (with deductions for lack of income, retirees etc ).
