We need a lot more than a short term fix. We got into this mess due to short term party political decisions on our infrastructure such as power, water, rail that are in private hands and run for the benefit of shareholders and executive Directors, not for the public. We need proper long term investment in power and take key utilities and infrastructure back into public ownership.

Plus our water and rail is largely foreign owned. Same thing. One example, Thames Water has paid over £2billion in dividends back to shareholders yet in 2 years has had 94 pollution breaches for dumping raw sewage into our rivers and get a fine but the Directors get off scott free. We have the most expensive rail tickets in Europe if not the world and we have the Tories to thank for all this.

@jozza5005 the public were offered a small fraction of the shares as a sweetner to make us all think we were “sharing” in the scheme which was in fact daylight robbery.
