for me in islam countries the dowry on marriage is an ancient form of prostitution and slavery and by giving the dowry to the family of a girl, young lady, lady, young woman and woman means the family is giving up the rights of their daughters to the becoming husband this is why abuse or domestic violence is higher in muslim or islamic countries..this is also the reason why the governments put the divorce law..
