@kellysouter4381 they do have the kids best interests at heart bit unfortunately they're very uninformed. Showing them the harrowing stories will make them change their mind. It's the only way. Not simply saying they're lots of detransitionors but by actually showing them the gory details, the emotion from those permanently scarred. I usually reference TullipR's tweets and Shapeshifters interview with Blaire White and Ariella Scarcella.

My dad wouldnt let my sisters have access to the internet. This before before Facebook. He also wouldnt let them go to sleepovers. Of course I thought he was being over the top. Now I get it. Letting kids develop untouched and unprogrammed or groomed or whatever it is is very important for those developing their sense of selves and sexuality etc.

@samsonquies7922 they used to. Not anymore. Ita called gender-affirming care. If you dont wave people through then its considered conversion therapy to try to work out and tell someone if they have gender identity disorder or not. You're supposed to just confirm it. They issue hormones to people like a prescription now. Within the hour. Therapists said they dont see GID patients anymore as they simply arent sent to them.

@William Tell you basically expressed how I feel. I'm a leftie but hate The Far Left and find many conservatives to be judgemental and stuck up. I prefer those who are closer to the centre as they're generally more tolerant all round. And I also feel politically homeless and dont know who to vote for next election (I'm from UK) and I dont know which friends I can trust due to how damn woke everyone is. Or how they'll treat me like a bigot when I'm not. I just saw how nuts The Left went. I'm vocal about my views online and have lost some friends but offline I bit my tongue the other day with my friend whose daughter has already began to transition. Already has facial hair now. We were at Pride. Didnt know how to start educating her without her choosing to not listen/cut me off because it's already gone too far for her daughter.

@samsonquies7922 ok. Lowe the condescion. 2, if you detransition it means you transitioned/became trans. If you mean they didnt genuinely have a disorder then no, some didnt. But many detransitionors do. Look at Shapeshifter's story. Let's put as much effort into hearing detrans voices as we do trans. Why turn out backs on them at the last hurdle.

@tay590 many of us commenting are Centre-Left though. I hate The Far Left. I want nothing to do with them. They are extremists who dont even represent liberalism anymore.

@samsonquies7922 that's good it still happens but it's become very common to pass people through the system very quickly. Which is what a lot of the uproar is about. Many detransitionors are speaking out and sueing their therapists for not assessing them and offering gender-affirming care

@samsonquies7922 destransitioning means to revert the transition, correct. You misunderstood. I didnt say destransitioning makes you become trans. That wouldnt make sense. When I mentioned becoming trans I was referring to when people trans not detrans. Not everyone who detransitions isnt trans anymore. It depends how far along in their transition they were. Some people are able to go back to their former self and stop all meds. Others have to continue meds to a degree or have done irreversible surgery. And detransitionors should be focused on just as much if not more. They have been there and will likley have answers from both perspectives and be able to recommend alternatives to medicalisation and surgery.
