  1.  @garydaly  I havent been through your experience but I developed PTSD after child sexual abuse and was suicidal for ten years I would medicate a bit with alcohol and I can only speak for me but stopping drinking was the best thing I did. Alcohol gives you the worst,depressive come Downs and lethargy. I went t-total (might not be safe for everyone to cold turkey)and now I am functioning and working after years on disability. I tried voluntary work first or therapeutic work as they call it and just desensitized myself over time..I still cant go in certain situations but life has its issues and we make do. You have your beautiful sons to bring you joy and purpose. Try to find some joyful hobbies that make you happy. Not social media or politics related as that's depressing. But revisit an old hobby or find a new one..learn a new language or take up a sport or dance class. You never know where you may end up.. best of luck, hun..hang in there xx
