  18.  @brek5  yeah. I think he was referring to people getting surgery in Korea. Not getting surgery to look Korean. But his wording was vague, maybe on purpose. As you know Koreans expect those living there to become like them and fit it. Anyone that knows South-East Asian culture knows they dont like people who stand out even within their own race. They expect you to assimilate and respect their culture. They hate many foreigners who dont do so. And then there are the Koreaboos who pick up certain surface-level culture like aegyo and laughing behind their hands like Koreans. They like the mannerisms of Koreans so try to imitate. Lots of people who live in Korea do learn about the country properly and immerse themselves such as people like Meghan Bowen/Moon and many others. Oli was only there for a year. If he lived there longer he would have felt very isolated unless he learnt more Korean. However I know gyopos there who cant speak Korean and just hang out in limited circles. Oli is just a typical Koreaboo. He doesnt have the will or energy to learn proper Korean and I dont think he is able to. Some people dont pick up languages well. He reminds me of Joey from Friends in that scene with Phoebe trying to teach him French. Oli has mixed two sentences together in one video in a way they dont make sense. He has has also learnt Tagalog and pronounced Tagalog phonetically instead of with a silent "g". I see nothing wrong with people learning a surface level of Korean. I can only speak basic level. That's ok. I dont live there. But he has made videos "teaching" these languages when he cant really speak them. But if anyone is serious about learning they're not gonna use Oli's videos.
