Some people dont have any money left over to save

@cm-kl2wx nope. I live on £17 a week after bills. That's what I have to buy my food.

@cm-kl2wx I dont. I suffer with anxiety attacks and insomnia and cant handle long work hours. I am not sick enough to be on sick benefit.

I can see what he means though. Many working class people attend college. Can I ask why you disagree with him?

Thisis Gettinboring I'm from Sussex, England. In my 40s and working class. I went to college but not uni. But I have friends in uni and my sister went. I still consider them working class so am trying to understand why you guys wouldnt. I never thought education was what deemed someone as working class. I thought it was related to lifestyle in general including income.

@Andygb78 well, I think income is part of being working class. I dont think he's implying income is the only factor. You can work your way out of being working class. You admit there are working class kids in uni and said education gives you access to higher paid jobs. Can I ask why you think working class kids in uni have less opportunity to those higher paid jobs than those in uni from a higher class background? My point was people in uni can still be working class so I still dont get why you think otherwise of you admit WC kids attend.

Thisis Gettinboring yes. In many cases. Andy above seemed to think working class people who attend uni have less opportunity to change their income. I dont know stats but I imagine who is more qualified and applies for the right jobs at the right times will win out.

@Andygb78 I know income isnt the sole reason for being working class. Neither me or the speaker were saying it was down to one thing. You say a small number of working ass kids go uni then contradict it saying none of their family went. You dont need money to go to uni. You have uni loans. As for transcending being working class you can be working class in part and middle class in others.

@jedgarallenpoej8470 can you elaborate. As I still struggle understanding. So would capital include things you've bought with your working class wages such as a car or house etc would it include the smaller things and any possessions. I have read up on this but it's not really stuck.

@jedgarallenpoej8470 I'm still confused. I understood what you said but not in relation to my question. So is capital the the product that was used to make money. Not the money made itself?

@jedgarallenpoej8470 ok thanks
