To be fair oppression isnt always just insitutional. There is social ways to oppress others. Look at the woman who got beat up for having canerow. The whole cultural appropriation thjng is social but still very oppresive. One Youtuebee commentor said when she was pregnant and wearing her Viet husbands traditional outfit she got stabbed in the belly for wearing it. Oppression is subjective.

@Selendeki also saying we have to unlearn racism implies we're automatically racist. If youre racist its ok to say youre racist. You dont need to project that onto everyone else like D'Angelo does with other white ppl.

I could understand them "collecting" friends if they were interested in your culture. I study Korean and likewise Koreans come here to study English so we mutually levitate to each other for that first-hand eperience and mutual interest. But if its just done to somehow prove youre not racist then as you say that eventually will show because these ppl dont act normal. My colleague is woke and I cant stand it. She often brings up race and says what black ppl supposedly find offensive despite her claims dont match my reality around black ppl. I have a sneaking suspicion she has had fuck all black friends in her life and is somehow trying to virtue-signal over me who actually has. Like she thinks she's edcuating me somehow. I now just let her waffle and dont pull her up on stuff as the last time I tried to correct her she wasnt having it about something I knew for a fact she was wrong on. And she walks around in clothing with black political messages. I sometimes get worried when ppl like that come into my work. Another guy had the t-shirt that had the "make racists/homophobes etc afraid again". Or when ppl with pronoun badges come in because activists especially those who wear it literally as a badge if honour are likely the type to get me fired for Fbk posts.

My mixed-race friend did just this in a bakery where someone was served before her and she said it was racism. This was the late 90s and I thought she was bonkers. Fastforward and I now work in a bakery. Ive had white ppl get upset I served others before them and one time a black guy got funny cz I served a white guy before him but he didnt tell me til after that he was next in the queue but he didnt seem ok about it like many might be and I was left thinking did he think I was being racist. So even if he didnt think that I now think that he thought that. 😂 I hate this ideology.

@@-...-zed-...-until 2015ish we were all the same and identity politics didnt exist to the main populace. From 2010 race started to get brought up when prior noone mentioned race and I grew up with black ppl ffs😂 They have now made everybody see race everywhere. Its insane.

@Selendeki to say we arent taught racism but then say in the same breath that we're taught anti-racism makes no sense. Anti-racism is a specific academic teaching happening in schools, unis and workplaces that is racist at its core. Dont be fooled by the name. One anti-racism scholar says "anti-blackness is foundational to our identities as white ppl"(Robin D'Angelo). She claims black people arent on time, that white people are arrogant. Another says how we must be racist to correct past racism (Ibram X Kendi)

@skelly5555 I wasnt taught racism in my school but I started school in the early 80s. Its sad to hear it is now being taught. These academics are so out of touch with regular black people and normal life and they project their lack of experience onto kids. I know several white ppl who bang on about what is supposedly racist yet pretty sure they dont have black mates based on the nonsense they spew.

@mrtalos I unfriended someone who said to ppl to unfriend her if theyre colourblind. She is roughly my age (40s) so knows this is crap. She knows what that expression means and knows it isnt related to disparities or addressing them if need be.

YOU were arguing Jason has alwasy been racist. THATS what we were disagreeing with. You dont get to move the goalposts just because youre arguement is flawed.

@kolob4697 CRT does exclude examining racism towards white people because one of the core tenants of CRT is that white people have the upper hand and try to maintain the upper hand over other races. You should read up on the tenants of CRT.

@kolob4697 also offshoots of CRT are being used in other countries, not just America. Regarding justice for black American slave descendants I dont think thats feasible? Would we look into historicla and genealogical records to see which blacks are descended from slaves. What about the white slaves in America who were enslaved by blacks? Is reparations going yoncome direcrly from the families of those slave owners or are you expecting tax-payers to front the bill? How much and how are you working out how much they are owed? It isnt as simple as a single amount payout to all black Americans. Many have come from Africa ir Brazil or The Carribean and dont have family from America.

@joecoolioness6399 one black woman on my Fbk feed complained the doctors wouldnt do a face to face during covid but did for one white patient. I had a face to face but mine required that. The black lady failed to take this into account that maybe there was another reason besides her race and perhaps docs didnt want to spread covid if they could help it but with other people a face to face was necessary. I believe mine may have been an asthma check or and internal. But yeah, ppl need to be taught mot to think the worst unless perhaps if needed in a survival situation.
