I've had noise sensitivity since the 90s. I just avoid places that trigger it or dont go out to pubs on days I'm feeling extra anxious.

@chilenapromedioRU same. I have anxiety and had it so bad I cant go certain places sometimes due to noise sensitivity. It would have never occurred to me to tell others to be quiet for me. Who does that? These people are making it so they never get stronger against their anxiety

@2199SPUDMAN anxiety is a mental illness though. I've always considered my anxiety as that.

@chilenapromedioRU I think they maybe get anxiety but theyve been taught this is the coping mechanism. I know there are times people will think I'm faking it because I could handle going to festivals but couldnt handle going to the cinema or fireworks display based on the diff in noise because cinema/fireworks is sudden noise whereas a festival or club is steady noise. But yeah, I'm no longer severely suicidal like I was and am now in work and can go out alone etc. I've come a long way. The only tip I can give you which runs completely counter to these guys is to desensitise. Dont push yourself to the point you find it overwhelming but do the things you feel comfortable with over and over and that involve interacting a lot with others. Even whilst I cannot wait in surgeries all the time and tell them I need to wait outside and to call me etc I function and that's the main thing. Best wishes to you :)

Haha. You're from UK arent you? "Wankers". UK head here and millenial and even they scar me. Yes I meant to say scar. Theyve totally messed my head up as I know what normal is and the mindfuk of being told by these guys that what they believe to be normal is normal when I know it isnt has completely fractured my mind. Being surrounded by crazy people and having their rhetoric and woke buzzwords shoved down my throat makes me forget who I was. The overload outweighs the strength of my own reality. I try as best I can to hang on to my language and avoid adopting newspeak. If you havent read "1984" George Orwell I would recommend. They have the film on YouTube as an alternative. The old and more modern version.

@chilenapromedioRU That's great. Good for you. And same. I used to go out alone in crowds and the other day I reluctantly bought a ticket for a festival in a few weeks. Am scared but I need to live my life. I hope ou have an amazing time with your friend and just remember you can always have a bit of alcohol to take the edge off. I try not to rely on it but you know how to manage your anxiety I'm sure so you will.be fine.. Just go out a bit more in the lead up to the day and also on the day just before. Listen to some good music and get in the mood and you'll be fine x

@chilenapromedioRU sorry to hear about your tumour but seems it's under control. And that's good to hear that you have your coping mechanisms. And yes I will. Now all I have to worry about are the Wokerati as I'm going to canerow my hair. Ha. Take care.

@pleaseenteranamelol711 Gen Z starts around 1996. So they're basically 26 now and would have been just leaving school when the whole social justice movement started.

I have sensitivity to noises. Dyu know what I do? I avoid the places that trigger it and try to desensitise myself when I can. I dont make the world adapt to my mental health issue as I am the one who needs to adapt.

@alexyoung2966 do you mean Manchester UK uni implemented jazz hands?

@zachbohemian someone should start a Fbk group for Gen Zs against woke culture. Give people a place to find like-minded peeps.
