Afrobeats is a good reason to learn African languages.

I'm gutted. I'm South-East. T.T I wish I could have met him. He needs to do a fan meet next time he is over.

@Daniel Dexter, look up Korean Billy speaking "Roadman Dialect". Its hilarious.

As someone who hangs around with diff ethnic groups from South-Eadt Asia I can tell Koreans, Thai, Filipino,Japanese and Chinese apart for the most part. Same with black Americans and british blacks. I knew that dude in the trackie was a Londoner (didnt realise Xiaoma was filming in London). Their features are diff to black Americans aswell as how they style themselves.

And Korea Town New Malden but not sure if he kept up with practicing it.
2
All parts of London are ethnic. Ethnic means "nationality".
2
@chilliam00 ethnicity etymologically means nationality. It's just people colloquially butcher it. It comes from the Greek word "ethnos" meaning nation. And that is why you can be Han Chinese and be ethnically British. The people in the video are ethnically Yoruba as they were born there. You can hear it in their accent. You can have dual ethnicity/nationality. My friend is Korean and grew up there but was born in UK and so is ethnically Korean and British.
2
@chilliam00 not a problem. Neither did I until recently but Im a stickler for being accurate within langauge (am a language learner) so yeah, I get a bit pedantic about it. 😂😂 In the modern sense it is still defined as being your nationality but with the elaborated def of nation/social group of people with shared culture. So I am def ethnically British. You seem to be defining ethnicity by haplogroup, and not race. We only have a handful of racial classifications and not over 50. Haplogroups tend to be concentrated in countries hence your example of Han Chinese being 90%. This then gets conflated that nationality mean genetics. They overlap but that isnt the defintion. Being Han Chinese ethnically is the same as being a Han Chinese citizen. It's the same defintion. Britian is a nation/ethnic group. And Irish descent is about genealogy, not nationality.

Prob to buy time while he remembers the phrase
2
I agree it would have been nice if longer but was thinking maybe he had used up all the Yoruba and Igbo he had learnt so didnt want to bore us
2
I literally said the same ting about going Carni to speak patois. 😂😂 "Mi name Xiaoma. Mi cum fraam foreign". 😂😂
2
Frankie knows sign language as his parents are deaf. Type in Frankie Chinese. I dont know what his name is. I think Frankie Light but cant remember. He has done one video in the only signing Starbucks in America and another with some deaf girls in a town centre.
2
Oh my days. Yes! He needs to learn. I want him to learn Jamaican. He needs to go Notting Hill Carnival next year and do his ting. Would be mad.

In what way? From Xioama or from the people or the surroundings? :/
1
@winstonsmith7801 Ok. I wasnt sure what you were referring to. Thanks for clarifying. In London its 50% ethnic minorities. Peckham as Xiaoma said is full of Nigerians. Diff parts of London have pockets of diff minorites. Some areas are more Pakistani for example. But yeah, in 2011 only 45% of London were white British and about 42% black. Since then its prob changed by another 5% so there is prob equal amounts of blacks and whites in London with the rest being asian and other.
1
Bit rude if he has an actual inpediment.
1
@PBA8 not really seeing as I didnt know he didnt have a speech impediment as I havent seen him clarify he doesnt. I personally think he does it to buy time while he remembers the phrase. shrugs
1
@PBA8 was just trying to have a conversation but no worries. Enjoy your day :)
1
Omg! You were in London?I feel hurt. So near but yet so far. I live right next to London. Btw Peckham is a dodgy area. Be careful round them ends. Ahh Xiaoma. I wish I could have met you. Next time do a fan meet. I'm sure you have lots of fans in UK. Love you.

Because he is only learning to use for basic communication for asic intro and shopping etc He isnt trying to waste his life learning one language fluently. Thats boring. He wants to connect with lots of diff cultures like Laushu did. And he has only been learning 2 months.

@thegodpotato132 I know what he meant hence me trying to correct him. Also his comment the way he intended it was racist but rather than start an arguement I was actually trying to overlook that. He is implying white people are racist (even though white people are ethnic too). At the end of the day I grew up with very little racism and it's only been since woke culture emerged that I've seen all this racism and it's all races getting it. Noone is immune so I dont know why people pretend otherwise. Also minorities are heavily racist towards each other. People trying to prevent and bully other people from practising other cultures. Yet it's those same people who claim they are against racism.
1
@Fragrantbeard on which point exactly? Are you one of those woke types I'm talking about?
1
Laushu used to pput"black guy..." in his thumbnail. It makes people click.
1
He always does it. Not sure ifit's afiller when he is trying to remember words. He also speaks really fast so he may trip on his words some of the time. But he always stutters and repeats the word I think to buy time while he remembers the next word so people dont try end his sentence for him.
1
Happy Yom Kippur. I know it's prob already passed.
1
They're British-African. He was in London, UK.
1
@1313tennisman being white doesnt relate to ones social economic position though. Young white males are the poorest in UK overall if you really want to go there.
1
Josh aka Yeongug Namja (just incase Xiaoma doesnt know who that is).
1
It's funny because I didnt catch the beginning of the video where you said you're in London but that dude at 4:50 I said to myself he looked like he was from London. Not sure if it's the style of dress or if Africans here tend to look more a certain way like maybe we have more from certain parts of Africa here but he just looks like he lived in London. Funny you can tell something so quickly like that. It's the same with black Americans. I can often tell looking at them due to the type of clothing ir features.
1
People have said he speaks other languages with a Chinese twang. Can you imagine Jamaican patwa with a Mr Chin twang. 😂😂
1
London is something like 50% minorities and diff areas are more of a certain minority. Some areas are more densely populated with Pakistanis etc

@sophie-mv8ee you're welcome :)
