  1. Growing up in the urban scene and working those clubs for years I can tell you we called people like Stormzy and Dizzee "chavs". I never even heard the term "roadman" until Korean Billy did his video on roadman slang about 5 years ago. Before 5 years ago we didnt call it roadman slang or MLE(Multicultural London English). It was just slang and patois. And to those born before social media we still call it patois and slang. To me the word roadman is just a chav term for chavs by chavs as a means to not have to call themselves chav. To make them sound hard and more trendy. But the term just leans more specifically about shotters(gunmen/dealers). There is just a diff look to a black chav and the original white chav. But a black chav is still a chav. But loads of white people who grew up in the 90s with black people basically dress like them. The girls run round in garish moschino clothes like Jamaicans do back a yaard. So to me Stormzy and all them are still chavs same way.
