@Celestina0 as a vegan sure we use diff language when discussing producing meat but her academic deconstruction and intersectional analysis is completely barmy. It's not just reaching its complete word salad. I've ben vegan for 6 years and was vegan prior when Inwas younger. But this woman is nuts. She is just another academic trying to say whatever they can muster to make money from people more stupid than her. It's actually a disgrace and does nothing to draw people to being vegan. It only pushes them further away.

@jacobhall1353 some of us are sane. Basically we just dont like animals being harmed. There is a debate to be had that animals are still harmed via the food production for vegans but it's a case of picking one or the other. Nothing perfect. I just feel slaughter house animals suffer for longer than say a feild mouse killed in a quick one off. For me its bait reducing suffering. I'm all for discussion though. Not all of us are nuts and I was a meat eater most my life so didnt suddenly change as a person. I just eat diff based on the reason I gave above. I'm still who I was when I ate meat and I dont run around proseltyzing to meat eaters although perhaps I should be attempting to if I care that much. :)

@MsScully25 plants dont have a nervous system. Plants do react to damage but not like humans and based on our studies surrounding brain response plants dont appear to feel pain like humans and its unknown how their damage response is experienced as we cannot measure it like we ca when measuring brain activity in humans

Came here after GB news posted about this. I'm vegan and this woman is cuckoo. She must need more meat 🤪 Seriously can acadamia stop trying so damn hard to find oppression where it doesnt exist. It's making peoples brains fall out. Even vegans have brains in better condition than academics. But I will give it to her she is funnier than me. She should try stand up. I would say that if what you're saying is accurate that whilst it may benefit to combine the two industries what you seem to be saying, I didnt read all as tired atm, is that it benefits us as humans whereas vegans become vegan to benefit other animals.

Academics forget the practical experience in things. Perhaps if they spent more time on the ground around the people they speak about theyd learn how things really are.
