Being bi-racial by def means you arent black. Youre half. Cant stand Americans man. Stuck on slavery metrics that were ruled unconsitutional in the 60s
7
So you say youre mixed-race but black but not completely black. So youre a dark mixed-race guy. Not black.
5
Youre part black part white. Youre not one or the other.
4
Its ok to not be black. Its ok to be half/quarter white. Love who you are.
4
Which specific part did you feel was transphobic? I personally didnt find anything offensive in the sketch. I'm not asking to start an argument. I'm genuinely asking.
4
@fideletamo4292 what do you mean noone can beat him in suffering? How can that be determined? Isnt that quite presumptuous?
4
@majormarz2325 not sure which commentor youre referring to. If its me I cant remember but it wouldnt be relevant regarding me replying under a specific comment and not the main video.
3
@tawanagradybulgado9385 hmm. Sounds like your mum was worried about you denying that side but if you never exhibited that she shouldnt have created an issue of it otherwise that just puts ideas into ppls heads. If parents dont fuss over race then kids wont think any diff until society gives their input. I find it disturbing when parents teach their kids to notice their race. Kids are intuitive enough to see black, see white and see they are a product of both.
3
@HeyIts_jenny some people really believe being black is about how you live rather than what your flipping skin colour is. Americans kill me 😂
2
@slimthickaz. T.I is mixed race. Light-skinned would be Mary J. Look at photos of Mary J next to Biggie and you can see what blCk is vs what light-skinned is. Mixed-race is lighter than light-skinned black.
2
@dennisahlarson1584 if you look white then youre prob 20% black so should call yourself white then. I dont think you should but why donit in the reverse? Youre mixed mostly white if you look white. My friend is very pale mixed-race and I know he gets darker in summer but we would never ever think to call him black. Its absurd. He isnt
2
@tawanagradybulgado9385 why would you mum be uncomfortable? Were you ignoring your white side and calling yourself "black" or something?
2
@gracia2316 the one-drop rule was ruled unconsitutional in The US in the 60s. Im from UK and we have no such rule. When we define people as black and white we use it literally...based on someone's colour. So you can be black and mixed-race becauseif you were to ID someone you say what you see. If someone is mostly white we say mixed-race. Same if theyre mostly black but you can tell they arent black black. In UK Stormzy is black. Idris Elba is black. To us Beyonce is mixed-race, Mariah Carey is white. Noone here knew Mariah had black in her until the last few years and truthfully her grandad being 1/2 Venezuelan doesnt even mean he was half black. Because Venezuelan isnt a race. Thats why in UK we use colour the way its intended. Visually. Then there is no confusion. Finding out about the one-drop rule in recent years is wild to me. 30 years if moving with black and mixed people in UK I never heard this term.
2
@mrelba9176 in UK you are classed as half white. I dont understand why Americans see that as trolling when you visibly have white in you and considering the one-drop rule is unconstitutional as it comes from slavery and was outlawed in the 60s.
2
@mr.meatyispeak can I ask why your parents raised you to call yourself black if youre part or half white? Did that not feel strnage and somehow degrading to your white side?
2
@Orianasama one-drop rule was ruled unconstitutional in the 60s though.
2
@LunaArtemis9995 your pfp shows youre not black but mixed-race. If your mum had green eyes and blond hair she was either white or mixed-race.
2
What people mean is if you arent a certain shade then you dont qualify as black. You need to have a certain amount if black in you to be black.
2
White people donnt view mixed race people as white OR black because theyre not. Theyre mixed. Its not that difficult.
1
She was right. Its a racist metric used during slavery. And in my opinion its racist to deny your white side by pretending to be black
1
I'm really struggling to understand what part of the special people were upset with. Can someone enlighten me to the specific jokes they found offensive?
1
@alienjesus796 black Americans def conflate culture and race. It leads many of them to be quite racist when a white person dances to hip hop or canerows their hair. They view it as belonging to them. In UK we dont have this concept of cultural things belonging to any one race. Rather that they originated from but are free to everyone.
1
@anothervictory2595 and its always the blacn side they lean to. They cannot admit if they have white in them or never call themselves white which is rather telling
1
@tawanagradybulgado9385 how did she try to make your brother more white? With bleaching creams or...?
1
@Djroshi01 he has made the next special already addressing the reaction to The Closer.
1
@Djroshi01 I dont think the special was supposed to be highly comedic. I think he just wanted to do a tribute for Daphne and highlight the trans activist issue.
1
@TheJarlath9 which part was transphobic? I keep asking people and getting no answers.
1
To be fair if you said "Im black" then obviously they'll disagree with you if youre mixed.
1
@merrilly- if you look white youre white. White is your colour. You cannot be black if you look white. What you really mean is you have some black in you. An amoutn that is so diluted you look white. You cannot be black if you are not actually black. Why Americans get this so backwards is bemusing.
1
@Selah_Saint_1865 in UK most mixed kids are raised by their white side as its usually the mums who are white.
1
@Selah_Saint_1865 also it's spelt "black". Not "Black".
1
@Selah_Saint_1865 and whilst youre correcting me.on spelling it's "you're". Not "u".
1
@HillLuvJump999 I can tell youre mixed because youre light-skinned. So its obvious you arent from two straight-up black parents although "white" dna can skip a gen.
1
@loki2240 thats sad for your sister's husband that she is racist about people who are his race. I worry for if they have kids.
1
@mr.meatyispeak so do you think men who think theyre women grew up as women? No. You cannot say you grew up black just because you imagine you did and that be a fact. You cannot call yourself black just because you imagine you are and that be a fact. What one thinks of themef doesnt change what one actually grew up as.
1
@SweetKarma954 if you look more white then youre not 50% white. Your dna might be 50% European but thats not the same thing.
1
@mr.meatyispeak you seemed het up on being corrected youre not black. Thats why ppl responded. But no worries. I'll leave it there muting
1
@lolary1479 we're talking about those of sub-Saharan origin. If someone is mixed race and their features show that we call the blasian or coolie depending on what type of Asian mix. If their features dont show that theyre mixed and we dont know theyre mixed we would naturally call them black because thats what we see.
1
Im from UK. We use coloured, halfcast or mixed race. Coloured is used by those born in the 60s. Halfcaste was used later. We also use coolie for those half Indian/half black.
1
@andthatsshannii you say black is a social construct but then say we shouldnt deny people being black..so which us it. End of the day Idris Elba is black, Mel C is mixed race. Thats just how it is here and has been for decades.
1
@martyrx3436 so you contradict your own comment by agreeing that people in UK do use the term "coloured".
1
@martyrx3436 its used regularly in Africa. And its also used regularly amongst older people in UK. Those in their late 50s and above. Either way its not an issue. Diff people use diff words. My issue is when someone calls somebody black who literally isn't.
