This kind of season was always coming at some point for Liverpool when they've barely freshened the squad in years. The same players cannot play at the intensity Klopp demands season after season without a fall-off at some point & I had a feeling it would be this season after the demands of failed quad campaign as well as the sale of Mane which is why I didn't predict them for top two this season. Obviously I wouldn't have been brave enough to predict them not in the top four but it's not a surprise, when your players are burnt out the fall-off is significant.
