One of the best team performances we've seen of a United team in years, a brilliant victory under the OT lights & it's all about Ronaldo again because of his ego & petulance. 🙄 The usual suspects are out here defending him making themselves look sillier by the day. I'm so sick of the circuses around high-profile players at this club & those in the fanbase who care more about those individuals than what they say is the club they support. Pathetic. All I hear too is "it was disrespectful that the club kept him if they weren't going to play him", it had nothing to do with disrespect, no top team with serious ambitions wanted him. Wake up! Mendes was trying to pimp him out to anybody & everybody all Summer, he got rejected left, right & centre. His greed & ego were too big to accept clubs that weren't perhaps considered the best in class & he didn't want to take a wage cut. Ridiculous. His best option at the end appeared to be Napoli & thank god for their sake they didn't take him because they've been fantastic this season playing a way that Ronaldo never would've been able to play, he'd have ruined what they are doing over there with their high-tempo progressive football. January can't come soon enough so hopefully we can find someone willing to take him off our hands before it gets any more ugly & potentially disrupts the excellent progression we are seeing under Ten Hag.
