  1. It's practically the top three from every group qualify barring a couple of lowest third place sides so the groups are a cakewalk for the top sides. Makes the group stages not particularly exciting anymore. When Portugal won the Euros in 2016, they didn't win a single game in their group & still made it out of it. 🤦‍♂️
