That's football heritage. PSG & City can buy domestic titles, can't buy the most elite competition in football.

He was immense last season tbf but it's only really been a season at this level. Laporte has done it for longer at City & has better all-round qualities but when I mentioned him as one of the top four CBs in the PL the other day along with Van Dijk, Rudiger & Ruben Dias I was told I was clueless by many so. 🤷♂️

@miz5138 I'm a neutral too. Both Laporte & Dias are far better.

@miz5138 You also got to account for the quality of the opposite too tbf. This is Real Madrid, the attacking quality you face doesn't get much tougher.

@miz5138 Really, Otamendi was pretty mediocre. City defenders are aided greatly of course by the system & quality of the players around them. If you are dominating possession of the ball in 90% of games then you are going to spend far less time having to defend of course. United's defence were good under LVG because of how they held onto the ball but a lot of it was possession for possessions sake so whilst they weren't conceding many, they weren't scoring many either though.

@miz5138 We'll have to agree to disagree there, Otamendi was suspect as hell.

@GIBBO4182 Juventus barely have it. They have bottled more chances at UCL's than anyone. Lost the most Finals I believe.

@thelonesoldier4518 Van Dijk is clear of any CB in world football right now.

@alrafirusif That's not what my comment said is it? 🙄 Point is that money can only buy you so much talent for one team, there's top class players call over Europe, particularly at the most decorated & attractive clubs. It's not so easy to buy the UCL title.
3
@GIBBO4182 What does that have to do with my original post? You've basically just reiterated by point without realising it. It's far easier to buy domestic success than European, that was the basis of my whole point here.
3
@GIBBO4182 Ffs, you really are pedantic. It amounts to the same thing, they have no history in Europe. Don't know why you are chatting about domestic titles when it was completely irrelevant to the point. Juventus are the most successful club domestically but the Milan clubs are both far more successful in Europe. Facts.

@miz5138 Fair enough. Yeah, I made that comment on the video confirming Rudiger is leaving. Big loss to Chelsea but huge signing for Real especially as their defence seriously needs a top CB.

@pbthecityzen The gall of you to talk about stupidity with grammar like that. 😄

@GIBBO4182 I think you do. Juve are traditionally European bottlers. PSG & City have no European pedigree. Not difficult to understand.
