It suddenly dawned on me that Watson believes that the insane absurdities and infantile informant tactics will recede in the light of clear thoughts and good, common sense.  No, dear Watson, the insanity will keep spreading!  It will come to seem normal to the majority and the world will become a horrible place for all who would think for themselves.  The darkness will keep expanding and engulf everything necessary to uphold the structure of modern legal democracies, and our culture will succumb. Being Danish I sometimes think I know the precise meaning of some English word, but actually don’t.  I believed "entails" meant approximately the same as "involves", and wanted to avoid "requires".  What I mean is that soul seems to be always involved, but as I see it, The One, Timeless Consciousness is absolute — the one possible absolute in the universe, by the way…

But this is an impossible start to tackling one of the most profound philosophical challenges. You’re probably so accustomed to thinking inside traditional thermodynamics that you hav yet to attempt to imagine a true absolute, whereas I have lived with and thought about this for 15 years.
