I don’t expect AIs to ever acquire conscious self-awareness, I think that entails a soul, but self-programmed awareness and self-preservation, sure, and all the more dangerously unpredictable. Google may even induce evolution of self-preservation by allowing AIs to build and program new AIs (which I frankly suspect they already are) and I don’t think Google holds back on letting them at all the data Google lifted from us all over the decades.

@AppleOfThineEye No, Nothing is a prerequisite for Consciousness, but my fault anyway. Being Danish I sometimes think I know the precise meaning of some English word, but actually don’t. I believed "entails" meant approximately the same as "involves", and wanted to avoid "requires". What I mean is that soul seems to be always involved, but as I see it, The One, Timeless Consciousness is absolute — the one possible absolute in the universe, by the way…

@AppleOfThineEye Well, an absolute may have no prerequisites whatsoever, but may still invariably cause certain phenomena. But this is an impossible start to tackling one of the most profound philosophical challenges. You’re probably so accustomed to thinking inside traditional thermodynamics that you hav yet to attempt to imagine a true absolute, whereas I have lived with and thought about this for 15 years. I was Eckhart Tolle who got me started, Maybe give him a listen?
