  2. Luculencia No. She explicitly said the staining method would only show live bacteria (in vivo staining). Some of these methods do kill the organisms, but the point remains that they were alive to process the dye when it was applied.

  9. Mystic Dreamer Yes, you're right of course. Were consciousness an illusion, nothing would be real. Consciousness is the awareness of thoughts, perceptions and feelings. The professor is stuck on the dream-level where mind and consciousness are presumed to be more or less the same.

It is the witness, the who of what we are, whereas the identification with ideas is the what of what we are - the understanding of self as opposed to the actual self...

But I would like to know what if anything prevents the observations simply suggesting big planets with many moon - or even several smaller planetary systems circling a big star - from being the possible cause of the dibs.

  16. Consciousness is the only absolute that can exist in the universe. The illusion that derails the recognition thereof is mainly that consciousness of the percieved world and personal events is still though to be a localized event.

  20. I hold there a flaw in this discussion: Intelligence is equated with awareness. Or perhaps it's implicitly assumed that self awareness is a function of higher intelligence? But neither is true. I fx do not believe that any kind of artificial intelligence can ever become self aware! Therefore the true discussion should still be "will we use AI to destroy ourselves", meaning that they may be used recklessly in war fare or production or lawmaking or something yet unimaginable - but stil only because we give them certain ill conceived goals, purposes or intentions. Or take the example of the "AIs improving their own intelligence". A very dubious concert since they can't have any concept of what that would mean. Without self awareness, they'd still simply be restricted to improve the tasks defined as their original "motivation" or gratification pattern. The only "risk" in developing AIs is that it becomes impossible for humans to ignore the huge difference between "intelligence" and "awareness". So I say again: "Awareness is not a product of any-thing!" It is the actual function of the ghost in the machine, but not just some ghost! It the actual Holy Ghost present in any and all self aware, living creature. Until someone demonstrates an indisputably self aware machine, which I sincerely suspect will be round about never, I believe we should focus ourselves on debating our own lack of reverence for The Awareness. A machine can think, no doubt about it. But can it know that it's doing this? I think not...

  22. It may seem important to determine the speed of the melting process, but not really. Our estimates are good enough. The real issues are of quite another order: How do we stop deforestation, pollution of the oceans and the insupportable growth in our own numbers? The latter may be the most important issue to solve, because of the otherwise increasing need for constant increments in agricultural areas. My personal opinion is that population increase is best curbed by sharing wealth and technology. Only with modernized infrastructure and comforts does a stable decrease in population set in for good. War doesn't work well. It may decrease populations temporarily, but they seem to bounce back with a vengeance when the war ceases. Then there's diseases. But I really don't think the suffering of wars and plagues are acceptable in view of more sustainable remedies being readily available... Actually, if I'm completely honest, I believe wars to be a symptom of extremely poor leadership – and artificial diseases a deluded product of paranoid dimbulbs, sequestered from reality in secret services...

  23. Well, my hair certainly doesn't stand on end from his commonalities. I realized decades ago that form isn't what we are. So does many others by now, and Eckhart Tolle recounts this very comprehensively. The childhood picture used, tells me a different story: As all our bodily atoms are exchanged every seven years or so, the "I" who chose to remember, doesn't reside in my forms. The "I" who contemplates my thoughts resides in the "nothingness"... We could probably all learn to walk through wall, if we would just accept that the body can't come along – just yet. I must also admit that I'm very wary of the quantum physicists repeatedly asserting that multiverses constantly form – whilst quickly adding that other singleverses can only be accessed through their theories and interpretations! If they can't "be accessed", of what consequence are they? Or if they are of consequence, shouldn't they be indirectly accessible through their interactions? No, residing in the nothingness of no time, and therefore able to perceive form and changes, I see no reason or merit in such brainspinn.

This is a very common trait when someone is trying to explain what he doesn't himself understand. It's seen quite often at exams.

The banking system is the mediator, protected by corrupt laws – with well designed, premeditated loopholes! When Danske Bank recently was caught laundering money for Russian oligarchs, the alarm turned out to have been raised repeatedly by several employees, both within Danske Bank and other European banks! But the necessary investigation was neglected – even suppressed – by the very institution designed to oversee these transactions, the Financial Oversight (Finanstilsynet). And in the US? Well, why would Obama have to buy real estate under an alias, fx? What was the drug addict, Hunter Biden, doing on the board of directors of Burisma, an Ukrainian energy company? Why hasn't his father, Joe Biden, been investigated and prosecuted for using State Funds to have the Ukrainian public prosecutor, who was investigating Burisma for corruption at the time his son was a board member, fired? Whenever I hear a politician answer a question with the assessment that "these things take time and are very complicated", I hear a politician telling the public that he's bribed to work for international finance criminals, and not for his constituents! When they say "trickle down", I hear "stealing the people blind"! All this vampirism could be ended very fast and easily. All it takes is political transparency and accountability. And why would we really want greedy, clandestine, lying psychopaths to be our leaders? Ps.: Have you noticed how all politicians are slowly adjusting their attitude to be more lenient towards panoptic surveillance and censorship? That's becoming the only way greedy criminals can stay in power, and they know. The MSM censorship and propaganda didn't quite work out. Social media now needs heavy handed censorship for our corrupt criminal leaders to stay out of jail... So they take their inspiration from China and Russia – with protection and support from MSM, owned and controlled by the vampires, of course...
