  2. Mystic Dreamer Yes, you're right of course. Were consciousness an illusion, nothing would be real. Consciousness is the awareness of thoughts, perceptions and feelings. The professor is stuck on the dream-level where mind and consciousness are presumed to be more or less the same.

It is the witness, the who of what we are, whereas the identification with ideas is the what of what we are - the understanding of self as opposed to the actual self...
