When the availability of energy for some reason cease, the structures fall apart or die out - whichever scale you're contemplating. The great scientific fallacy is that the obvious negentropic process of the universe has never been acknowledged! "Something" all pervasive is causing the exact opposite of what science postulate to be universal. Even their pet theory, the Big Bang, fails to address what causes the evidently very ordered universe to be and jumps straight from this flaw to tell us that the universe is slowly moving towards a grey, unstructured and bleak blob of uniform energy distribution without structure. One completely flawed and contra-factual theory sprouts another. It makes no sense. What does make sense is One Eternal Consciousness forever creating the universe in the eternal now wherein everything and everyone reside. This is the prerequisite to even contemplate time, space, matter and energy but science is stuck in a rut, denying that Eternity and The Now are two labels for the same, basic reality.

  6. Cholypleige alias Don't need to reseach redshift, known and understood it before you wore diapers. My position is that given the lack of knowledge about dark matter and dark energy and having only recently determined the presence of a dark hole central to every galaxy, we can't blindly elevate a theoretically possible explanation to be the only possibility, thus making our research as monomaniacal as our economy. There is one thing in the universe which according to current theory seems to be reversing entropy, and that's black holes. Yet nothing comes out of them exept gravity and the occasional destructive gamma beams at the poles. So, if they are creating a higher order by absorbing nicely ordered suns and planets and all kinds of matter and energy, what are they creating? I think the redshift may turn out to be caused by light passing through innumerable strong gravitational fields, the farther it traveled, the more it had to pass, thus giving the illusion of an expansion. I also expect that the Big Bang will be found to be many continuous smaller bangs caused by some yet unknown effects when giant black holes get too big and implode, probably creating an entire new section of the universe.

  8. Cholypleige alias Well, it may not be applicable as a technique as such, yet still be a part of nature's immense arsenal for preservation and propagation of life's forms. Perhaps The One Consciousness behind Life's love for Life must first decide that the effort is appropriate? Epigenetics at least show that environmental factors may awaken dormant genes and that the new setup is heritable.

  9. Cholypleige alias Yes. Hawking radiation is a mere speculation - or hypothesis if you prefer. It doesn't explain why - or attempt to show the likelihood of why - any kind of radiation or special particles, matter or antimatter, should have the slightest higher probability of escaping than being sucked in and that's the entire basis for the hypothesis. It assumes, probably correctly so, that a small but still significant amount of quantum particles must, for however short a lifespan, appear and annihilate each other on some border line outside the actual event horizon where one type af matter might escape while its counterpart might be sucked in. It completely omits to demonstrate why the various products of these highly likely quantum processes should be under any obligation to prefer one special direction to move in - as far as I have been able to find out from Hawkings' publications at least. This in my opinion renders it mere speculation and not a "discovery". These kinds of quantum physics in extreme gravitational fields do not render themselves for experimental approach and thus cannot be termed discoveries. Hawking himself notes, that "the conditions necessary to test his hypothesis are unlikely to be handled anywhere in space and certainly never here on Earth..."
