  6. Melissa Are you very afraid of moving out yourself, you seem so involved? One doesn't make "attempts" at moving out, you either do or don't. Perhaps if he hadn't been so stubborn and immature as he now appears at thirtyone, his parents would probably have supported him for a while at in his new place. But it's useless to discuss further. I'm not his therapist and therefore lack knowledge of specifics. We can only state principles here. Mine is that it's more healthy to move out at eighteen, twenty at the latest – but immediately if your parents tell you to! That's it, bye.

  9. Melissa Yeah, nah – out at 15 would be even better. ;) Why would he (and you) expect his parents or others to solve his problems? And what are they, anyway? Do you know, because I sure don't?

  10. Melissa He is 31! Stop it! Parents are also allowed to fail for whatever reasons – their own shortcomings, children's shortcomings or a combination. If proper parenting isn't done at fourteen, parents/children won't work it out. You'll see... The locks should have been changed the very first time he refused to move out.
