Well, it's only natural politicians would forget they work for us, since they haven't been doing so for at least two decades.  They have become useless, perhaps mostly detrimental, since they began to think it okay to work for the position of power by any means (lying fx) to incur reciprocal favors from the financially powerful hidden hand.  In Denmark for instance, where it's not possible to receive huge brib... ahh, supportive donations without publication, the briber..., sorry, camaraderie simply takes another form: They sell out their party and our national resources, create more national debt for our grandchildren to suffer and leave politics or 'advance' to some obscure commiserate in the EU. Nothing to see here, nothing overtly illegal, but certainly nothing that benefits the people or the nation. It's come to the point where politicians' exit strategy is to buy nomination with promises they can't keep, stay in office long enough by lying in order to sell out everything they can — all to ensure kickbacks from the hidden hand — and when they've created as much debt, mess and unsolved problems as possible, they up and leave, typically for some honorary and extremely well paying advisory position created by some 'investment firm' or 'humanitarian organization' they worked for when they were in politics... It's become fairly difficult to distinguish politicians from top mafiosos and basic wire frauds on the big scale...
