I have the easy solution:
Stop all company censorship. Abide by the laws. Give users an easy way to press charges with the police, if they believe laws were broken. Otherwise, simply don't interfere. No more shadowy "adjustments"! No deceptive echo chambers.
Then, if some are turning off great numbers of users from specific channels or debates by their comments, warn them of this, and describe the consequences if they don't desist. Publish the dialogue. Take the debate. CEOs might learn something valuable as well...
Likewise, if some make an inordinate amount of content flagging, warn them and advice them of the consequences, should they percist. Publish the dialogue.
This is how interaction on social media can contribute to everyone's development on a much larger scale than village interaction.
Cost may initially be incurred, sure, but why shouldn't big tech contribute to public education?
Look at it as an investment.
The first companies to stop totalitarian censorship and promote improved dialogue, will stand out as founders of a better future instead of instigators of public unrest.
The public will thrive and society will benefit. Totalitarian regimes will crumble globally, because their citizens can't keep up. They stopped adjusting and evolving.
