I was not aware access to the roof was staff only in the Lam case.  This would, if correct, indicate that her murderer should be sought among a small group of people — male staffers with roof access and sufficient strength to carry her up the ladder, lift the heavy lid on the water tank and dump her. The group of suspects can probably be reduced even further by starting out with strong, male staffers in possession of roof access and a key for elevator override! She could very well have been arguing with someone pressing his company on her while preventing the elevator from going anywhere... Someone who knew where to stand to avoid the security cameras.
