I like these decisions. Go Britain, others may learn! The parents are hurting of course, but what would be the alternative? Hanging for treason?

Kamal Mortoza Yeah, well the law of the land would've been execution for treason, wouldn't it?

Jay R What's the Windrush Generation? Never heard the expression... Well, we can't have arbitrary stripping, but to me he's an obvious traitor and got off lightly.

Yes, there's actually a lot of these cases popping up in the western world. We may be looking at an abolishment of dual citizenship – a concept which always seemed dubious to me, anyway. A certain state of unaccountability, slipperiness and judicial limbo always marred it.

I guess it's a matter of the state: Keep your citizenship or hang for treason...

Kamal Mortoza Not applicable to martial laws...

Kamal Mortoza Well, I'm no judge, but I've heard these subjects debated by legal minds and they seem to agree that the matter of citizenship rests with the sovereign institution of government, not the courts. In this specific case, the main crime is treason, and in most countries that's a matter for a military court. So I think you could legally invoke martial law on a few cases, because the perpetrators joined a military group, fighting against his own nation. He joined a military group, which breaks laws of military engagement left, right and center 24/7/365. Also for example a government can decide not to uphold the UN charters on refugees under certain circumstances.

Jay R Why? The things I happen to stay clear of usually aren't important. You used the term, you explain or get lost.
