What keeps feeding the illusion amongst remainders and remoaners that some better deal is possible? It's been three years and nothing has changed. The EU won't want to make an exit easy at all. Italy, Denmark and perhaps Greece might get ideas. It might even come to the point where EU sets the final date, because the current limbo is bleeding resources and postponing everything. But still the remoaners seem to ignore all practicalities and be fixated on some vague expectation that they have something to hope for. Meanwhile the polls among the British people aren't exactly indicating that a new election will suddenly favor remaining. But what do I know? I actually always thought the concept of the EU was stillborn and would need constant life support until someone showed mercy and cut the switch...
