  1. Well, if men and women can serve, why not transgenders - in principle. I think it's off topic to lay down specific rules for them, making their social lives even more difficult and pushing them further towards alienation and isolation. Why not make better tests of aspirants for their mental and physical capabilities as soldiers? This will be much more useful, less stigmatizing and will presumably rule out a lot of possible transgenders, not yet having found a stable lifestyle for themselves. It would also rule out some chromosome xyy males with a different kind of instability not benefiting the military. To be quite frank, I find these persistent debates about who to include (accept, love) and who to exclude (despise, hate) immature, dumb and unproductive.

You and a few others, probably, but again, you can't generalize meaningfully on such narrow criteria, and it contributes nothing beneficial. If you think women with pms shouldn't have access to guns, shouldn't they then also be prevented from driving? Caring for children? Voting? Come on, get real...
