  2. xander Yes, I saw it too, in texts, titles and headlines, it's just that I never heard her say so on radio, tv or video – and that it frankly sounds a bit clumsy and unnecessary – Mette Frederiksen isn't exactly stupid. So until someone gives me a link to an audio or visual recording of her saying it, I maintain it's a media-created hyperbole meant to deride Trump, and I maintain a suspicion that he still has bad advisors in the White House, paying him lip service, but undermining his presidency...

  3. xander Yes, Reuter has an article to this effect. But it refers to a small newspaper in Greenland for the wording "absurd" and has no audio or video. Sounds like secondhand hearsay to me. Audio anyone?

  4. xander You're right! Of course it would be everywhere if it was recorded. I just found, however, an interview on DR where she's asked about this specific statement: "Couldn't you have used a more diplomatic language than calling the discussion 'absurd'?" and she doesn't deny it! She answers: "I think our responce was quite friendly! I feel no need to get into a battle of words with anyone and feel that among friends and allies there should be room for disagreeing" – then goes on to mention a need for coordinating strategies between allies in the North Atlantic and Middle East and expresses the welcoming of Trump, should he later reconsider.
