  6. Dennis Mahaney Yeah, I don't really know anymore. Twenty years ago I watched a documentary about how lawmakers were effectively legally exempt from rules against insider trading. Now it seems to have become an issue, but senator Loeffler recently got away with stating that she didn't influence the short selling of her stocks, because she had professional traders handling things without requiring her accept – and she wasn't even asked for documentation... I have a really hard time believing anybody would agree to the huge vulnerability of such an arrangement, but there would at least have to be a written commitment. No arbitration would accept a broker explaining that his bankrupt client told him to just trade ahead without confirmation, I think. So! Perhaps the laws have been changed? But it stills seems to me the lawmakers left themselves enough loopholes to effectively remain immune...
