Politicians are ugly this way: They’ll happily direct the CIA to construct evidence of threats not in existence and ask young people to risk life, limbs and livelihood on idiotic schemes of war, but when some of the soldiers return home maimed, scarred soldiers, they completely forget their promises to take care of the veterans. I don’t know why their minds work this way, but it’s just not right. To me it seems so callous as to disqualify a person from holding a position of public trust!
