Briguy1027 That wasn't Sotomayor's argument at all! Her point was that access to personal papers or papers in the possession of a third party before Trump became president was distinctly separate from access to papers developed during presidency. That's exactly the opposite of extending presidential privilege to times before Trump was in office. It's the prosecution, who's trying to extend the concept of "public interest" beyond the presidency itself. He tried to argue this, and she interrupted, because of the general principle of no guilt before legislation is effectuated...
