It's a very crude and incredibly stupid technique, know for getting highly unreliable answers, simply because the subject will say anything and is constantly trying to figure out what the interrogators want to hear. It is also demeaning and unworthy of an evolved culture. It brings USA down on level with the most despicable banana republics and totalitarian regimes and also opens the field for breaking any and all international conventions for wartime engagements to the detriment of all wounded and captive soldiers. It is one of the most significant markers for devolution and despair.
